A 9 day Drum Camp on the serene island of Bali in Indonesia. You will be treated to a great location, wonderful food and culture at this intensive for Intermediate and Advanced level drummers. Expect up to 5 hours of tuition per day with classes for different levels, opportunities for massage, swimming , snorkeling, hiking, yoga and relaxing under the palms ..... escape the winter blues and take your drumming to a new level under the tutelage of Drum Masters Simon Fraser and Tuza from Ghana
Directed by internationally acclaimed percussionist & teacher Simon Fraser and master drummer Tuza, this camp is a wonderful opportunity to expand your knowledge in West African music & culture. Simon and Tuza have hosted over 100 drum and dance aficionados to their study tours in West Africa over the past decade and continue to bring a wonderful insight to the feel, groove, power and subtlety of this raw art form. Understanding how non Africans process the music is what separates their teaching prowess from most others in the field.
Candidasa on the east coast is a special place.
You can expect lots of great local restaurants, and hawker style cafe's set in amongst a peaceful and natural environment. We found our camp integrated really well into the Candidasa community, and we had great feedback from the locals. We have also developed a wonderful relationship with a local school
From Bali Drum Camp Aug 2010:
A truly magical trip, with so many highlights.

Here is what people said about the Camp:
" What an amazing combination.... The beauty of Bali and it's people, the food, like minded participants and the spirit of African music." - Phil , Perth
" By day 3, everyone was living, breathing and dreaming about drumming. I woke up singing rhythms. The Djembe had taken over. The 2 different perspectives and teaching styles of Simon and Bouba were a great complimentary contrast" - Ronda , Sydney
" I’d like to follow that up by congratulating you and your team for running such a well organized, professional camp. The teaching, the venue and the organization was first class. Bali at this time of year was a perfect backdrop and, of course , we were blessed with the weather" Ron , Vic
" We had a chance to give back to the community by drumming for the local primary school. The excited faces of the children; the gratitude of the teachers; the curiosity, enjoyment and possibly annoyance of passersby, was a definite highlight."
The Camp culminates with a final public concert by all of us - a special highlight - as we showcase our works to the local community.
We also donate our time and support to the local school where we perform.
